This is where we start. As I was working through my task list for the day, battling through my workload, our lesson plans, the disarray of a messy, chaotic household; I was struck by the reality that today was the day to start writing again. Why? Why when it feels like there is no way I can add one more thing to this mile long list of to do’s, do I decide to dive back into a pursuit and passion I’ve had since 2nd grade? I have no idea, but here we go!
Life is full and heavy; I am chronically overwhelmed by my blessings. God has gifted me with a heart of kindness and compassion, a lifetime of dreams and ambitions, and days with nowhere near enough hours to truly fulfill the longing and potential I aspire to fill them with. I am “mama”, I am “wifey”, I am a baker, a seamstress, an community developer for an incredible ministry. I am a teacher, an encourager, a daughter; I am a child of our incredible Creator. I don’t know which of these titles or callings to start with, so instead I lay them all here to begin, and we will see where this journey takes us. There is no plan, there is no specific order; I am simply coming back to my love of writing.
My life is busy, and pretty ordinary. But who said things need to be extraordinary to be worth sharing (and writing) about? My life is full of stories of faith, motherhood, marriage, home, dreams, ideas, and I am excited to have a space to collect these stories and potentially share them with others.
I don’t know what this space will become, but I’m giving myself permission to find out by showing up and writing today.
